Gluten free communion hosts
Another funny Celiac story...When I go to various churches I have to learn the process of being able to receive a gluten free communion wafer. It tends to be slightly different in each church. I followed the process here and I am to go to Father's line and tell him 'gluten free' and he opens up my pyx for the gluten free wafer. Well, it was a different Father at mass and when I told him 'gluten free' he went up to the alter and carried back my pyx. He couldn't get it opened so he handed it to me and I tried and I couldn't get it opened. He asked to try again and handed me the large bowl of communion wafers. I was laughing by this point as this would only happen to me...he gave it back to me and told me to take it back to my seat and continue to try to open the pyx. I was laughing as I was walking back to my seat and the line was soooo long behind me. Who knows what they were thinking of me at this time! Eventually I got it opened. So of course this has my curious mind going with additional ways to receive communion which I will visit with Father about in the near future;)
